Speed limit increased to 140 km/h on motorways in Bulgaria

From 26th June 2012 the speed limit on Bulgaria's motorways is increased to 140 km/h.
Still this will be valid only for the newest or recently repaired sections. On the other sections it is usually 130 km/h, 90 km/h or other signposted speed limit.

The amendments of the Traffic Law also introduce the term "fast road": these are roads where the speed limit is 120 km/h and do not have a hazard (emergency) lane. Such roads are to be build in Bulgaria in the following years.
